10th National Scout Jamboree Logo Unveiled: President Ranil Wickramasinghe Pledges Full Support

Colombo, Sri Lanka - A momentous occasion unfolded today at the Presidential Secretariat as the emblematic logo for the 10th National Scout Jamboree was officially revealed. The special ceremony, held on July 28, 2023, marked a significant step forward in the preparations for this eagerly anticipated event.

Chief Scout Commissioner Attorney-at-law Mr. Janaprith Fernando extended a warm welcome to His Excellency Ranil Wickramasinghe, President and Chief Scout of Sri Lanka, as he arrived to grace the occasion. In his opening remarks, Mr. Fernando provided President Wickramasinghe with an overview of the upcoming 10th National Jamboree, scheduled to take place in Trincomalee from February 20th to February 26th, 2024. With an expected attendance of 12,000 scouts from Sri Lanka and approximately 1,000 overseas scouts, the event promises to be a grand celebration of scouting spirit and camaraderie.
Amidst an atmosphere buzzing with excitement and anticipation, His Excellency the Chief Scout unveiled the official logo of the Jamboree, symbolizing the unity and diversity of the scouting movement. The emblem, meticulously designed to encapsulate the essence of the event, serves as a beacon of inspiration for scouts nationwide. Following the unveiling of the logo, Chief Commissioner Mr. Fernando presented the Jamboree badge to President Wickramasinghe, as well as to Mr. Sagala Ratnayake, emphasizing their pivotal roles in the success of the event.
Expressing his gratitude, Mr. Fernando appealed to His Excellency for his unwavering support in ensuring the smooth execution of the Jamboree. In response, President Wickramasinghe reaffirmed the government's commitment to the scouting movement, pledging full state patronage and support to guarantee the success of the 10th National Jamboree. He lauded the efforts of the organizing committee and expressed confidence in their ability to orchestrate a memorable and impactful event for scouts nationwide.
As preparations for the Jamboree gather momentum, organizers are working tirelessly to create an unforgettable experience for participants. With the support of the government and the dedication of scouts and leaders, the 10th National Scout Jamboree promises to be a resounding success, fostering friendship, leadership, and community spirit among young scouts from across the country and beyond.
